Semiahmoo Resort Sale In Works

BLAINE, Wash.  (Metro)  -- There's word that a sale is again in the works for the financially-challenged Semiahmoo Resort near Blaine, but there are conflicting reports on whether the resort will close.

The Bellingham Herald says the rumored buyer is Warnick and Company of Phoenix, a turnaround specialist.  The Upper Skagit Tribe is the current majority owner.

The plan could leave Washington Federal Savings short of what it's owed on loans it assumed from Horizon Bank, which failed last year.
