SEATTLE, Wash. (Metro) -- New fuel efficiency rules just approved by the Obama administration will save Washington drivers more than 200-million-dollars eventually.
That's according to the Natural Resources Defense Council.
U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood is encouraged.
But Republican Presidential nominee Mitt Romney says he'll kill the new standards if he's elected because they'll hurt domestic car manufacturers.
The standards require cars and light-duty trucks to get just over 54-miles-per-gallon by model-year 2025.
