TAMPA, Fla. -- The chair of the Whatcom County Republican Party is in Florida attending the GOP National Convention.

Lynden resident Luanne Van Werven says tropical storm Isaac hasn't dampened the mood of Republicans in Tampa.

Some events at the GOP convention were cancelled Monday due to the storm.

Van Werven and four other Whatcom County Republican Party members are attending the convention, which will wrap up with Romney's acceptance speech on Thursday.
