Woman Kicked Off WTA Bus In Sumas Assaults Driver



SUMAS, Wash. -- A woman faces charges for assault and urinating in public after she allegedly hit a WTA bus driver in the face.

A spokeswoman for Whatcom Transportation Authority says the woman boarded the bus on the 71x route in Sumas at about 6:30 yesterday morning.

She began making a disturbance on the bus and the driver ordered her off.

She hit him before exiting, cutting and bruising his face.

Sumas police identify the woman as Tawonna hicks, a transient who is in her 40’s.
