Feds Release Report In Deadly Accident

RENO, Nev.  (Metro)  -- A nearly 1,000 page report is revealing details about last year's deadly crash at a Reno, Nev. air show that killed a former Bellingham couple.

The National Transportation Safety Board is focusing on loose screws in the tail of a modified World War II plane as a possible cause.

A preliminary determination of what caused the accident is expected to be released soon.

The plane crashed in a spectator area at the National Championship Air Races in September 2011.

Eleven people were killed, including former Bellingham residents George and Wendy Hewitt.

More than 60 others were injured.
