Group Plans Protest Claiming Racial Profiling At Fair

LYNDEN, Wash. -- A local group is planning a peaceful protest march this week against the new security policy used at last week's Northwest Washington Fair.

Josephine Pebria with the group Voices for Equality says they believe guards at the fair used racial profiling in their search for gang members.

She says several people told her they felt targeted at the fair because of their race.

She says guards should have used metal detectors to keep weapons from getting on the fairgrounds.

The group is planning to march from Christ the King Church in Lynden to the fairgrounds and back this Friday afternoon.
