Member Of Tuskegee Airmen Passes Away At Age 88
SEATTLE, Wash. (Metro) -- A member of the legendary Tuskegee airmen is being remembered in Washington State.
George Hickman was one of the pioneering African-American Army pilots who flew in World War II.
He received the Congressional Gold Medal in 2007 and witnessed President Obama's inauguration in 2009.
He worked for Boeing for nearly three decades and also became a fixture in Washington sports.
He worked in the press box at Husky Stadium at the University of Washington and was an usher at basketball games.
Hickman passed away over the weekend at the age of 88.
