aylor Bridge Fire Containment Now Expected Today

CLE ELUM, Wash.  (Metro)  -- Firefighters now think they can contain the Taylor Bridge wildfire east of Cle Elum sometime today.

This after thunderstorms brought rain over the weekend, but no lightning strikes.

"The Seattle Times" reported containment at about 43 percent last night with an evacuation notice still in effect for the 23,000 acre fire.

It also turns out that the fire has destroyed 48 homes, not the 70 estimated last Friday.
