Authorities Find Body Of Man Who Jumped Off Bridge

LA CONNER, Wash.  (Metro)  -- Divers have recovered the body of a man who jumped off the Rainbow Bridge into the Swinomish Channel in Skagit County.

Authorities say a friend reported early yesterday morning that the 24-year-old man jumped from the bridge.

U.S. Coast Guard and Skagit County Sheriff's Office personnel conducted the search, and a boat from the Seattle Police Department was brought in later because of its sonar technology.

Officials say the man was riding in a truck crossing the bridge when he suddenly got out of the vehicle and jumped off.
