ATLANTA, Ga. (Metro) -- A new report from the U.S. Centers for Diseases Control and Prevention shows 26.5 percent of Washington state's population is classified as obese.
The Evergreen State has among the lowest percentages of obese people in the country, according to the CDC report that's based on 2011 data.
The report says there was a dramatic increase in obesity in the U.S. from 1990 through 2010.
Mississippi, with a 34.9 percent obesity rate, is at the top of the 2011 CDC list, while Colorado is lowest at 20.7 percent.
