KGMI News Reporting

OLYMPIA, Wash. -- The first part of August brings with it an increased threat of wildfires.
The State Department of Natural Resources has already issued a statewide burn ban on all DNR protected lands in an effort to reduce human-caused fire.
Janice Pearce with the DNR emphasizes that along with forest lands, homes are at major risk if the wildfires can’t be contained.
Over three hundred fires have affected DNR protected lands so far this year.
