Two Lewd Acts Put Bellingham Police On Alert

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- Bellingham Police want the public to be alert after two separate acts of lewd conduct were reported just hours apart.

Two young girls reported seeing a man exposing on a trail around Lake Padden around 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Police spokesman Mark Young says it was a white male around 20 years old, and he did not make any attempt to contact the girls.

Around 11:30 p.m., a man wearing a mask doing a lewd act was spotted on the back porch of an apartment in the 3100 of Ferry Avenue.

He's described as a white male with an average build, wearing dark clothing and a bandana over his face.

Officers with a K-9 unit searched the area but didn't find the suspect.

Young says police aren't sure if the incidents are related.

He says call 911 immediately if you see an act of lewd conduct.
