Busy mom Gwen Stefani exhausted by No Doubt album

Gwen Stefani was left "exhausted" after struggling to juggle recording sessions for the new No Doubt album with motherhood.

The "Don't Speak" hitmakers regrouped in 2010 to work on new tracks after a six-year hiatus, and the busy band's new record, "Push & Shove," will finally hit shelves in September - but Stefani admits the studio sessions, coupled with parenting duties to sons Kingston and Zuma, left her feeling drained.

She tells Britain's Daily Record newspaper, "We were only able to get together three days a week and, because I had the kids, there was only a limited amount of time. I was exhausted by the time I got there, so it was a struggle trying to weigh and balance everything out with the kids.

"But it was that fight that made the record so great, just really wanting it, and saying, 'No, and I don't care that Kingston is in school 'till 3pm, let's meet at 10am and write the record' - whatever it took. I don't know where that drive comes from."

No Doubt released their last album, "Rock Steady," in 2001.
