One Direction star Niall Horan was forced to pull out of a recording session after falling sick this week.

The "What Makes You Beautiful" hitmakers have been in the studio working on their second album, but Irish singer Horan stayed in bed on Thursday to recuperate after losing his voice.

In posts on his Twitter page, he wrote to his followers, "Waking up with no voice! Nooo... Sick day today! Now off to sleep."

He later returned to the site to assure fans they will love the boyband's new material, tweeting, "Guys love you all soo much! We been in the studio lately! We're comin (sic) back with more music in the next couple of months! Get ready..."
