Motorcycle Testing Outsourced

OLYMPIA, Wash.  (Metro)  -- Starting August 1, most motorcycle riders seeking an endorsement to ride legally in Washington state will be taking their tests at approved motorcycle training schools across the state.

The state Department of Licensing says this will give the riders more choices and free up hard-pressed staff to serve office customers.

The schools will set test fees.

The State Patrol has complained for some time that too many motorcyclists lack the proper skills and endorsements.
