Federal Way Boy Killed While Riding Bike At Night

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. (Metro)  -- A memorial of candles, flowers and stuffed animals is growing outside the Federal Way home of an eight-year-old boy hit and killed on his bicycle last night.

KIRO 7 Eyewitness news reports Wayde Rodriguez-Fale was riding his bicycle without a helmet around 10 p.m., when he was hit by a vehicle on Southwest 333 Street.

He died later at Harborview Medical Center.

Police say the driver of the car was not impaired or driving negligently.

Residents say there are lots of kids playing in their neighborhood and they have been fighting to get speed bumps installed on the streets.

The boy's family members say they hope people will learn from this accident and slow down in residential areas.
