Fluorescent Lighting Cause Of Bellingham House Fire

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- Authorities are saying a florescent light is the culprit in a Bellingham house fire.

Bellingham Fire Marshal Jason Napier says investigators determined the Monday evening blaze started when a part of the florescent light heated up.

No one was home at the time of the fire.

Napier says the resident had left for a trip earlier in the day and had not turned the light off.

He says the damage is estimated at $80,000.
