County Sheriff On Look Out For Man Suspected In Assault

FERNDALE, Wash. -- The Whatcom County Sheriff's Office is looking for a man suspected of assaulting a jogger near Ferndale Thursday evening.

Sheriff Bill Elfo says 30-year-old Gavin Haggith intentionally swerved his car at the jogger on Brown Road, forcing him to leap into some bushes.

Elfo says Haggith then got out of the car and assaulted the jogger, seriously injuring his face.

Haggith is 6”1’ and 185 lbs. with long brown hair.

He's believed to now be driving a black Mitsubishi Eclipse with the Washington license plate number 189-YSO.

Anyone with information on Haggith's whereabouts is asked to call 9-1-1.
