Navy Crew Rescues Missing NAS Whidbey Sailor

SEATTLE, Wash  (Metro)  -- Whidbey Naval Air Station Senior Chief William Wolf is recovering in ICU at Harborview Medical Center from spinal and internal injuries and an amputated leg from a motorcycle crash.

KING 5 News reports he was trapped for two days in the forest in Skagit County before his Navy colleagues and Skagit County Sheriff's Office Search and Rescue teams located him.

Members of the NAS Whidbey-based Navy search and rescue crew finally found Wolf after his riding partner recalled the two of them riding on National Forest Roads 17 and 18 several weeks ago and that Wolf mentioned wanting to go back.
