Man Injured In Motorcycle Crash Now Dead

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- A man injured in a Bellingham motorcycle crash that threw him 60 ft. has died.

Bellingham Police Spokesman Mark Young says 28-year-old Christopher Whitbeck succumbed to his injuries hours after the wreck.

He was rushed to PeaceHealth Saint Joseph Medical Center after the Iowa Street collision late Tuesday morning.

Witnesses say it appeared that Whitbeck’s motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed, at least 60 mph., when it struck a truck turning into the King Nissan Dealership.

Investigators maintain that speed is the likely cause, but young says all aspects of the fatal crash will be examined.
