The Wanted run with Olympic torch

British boy band The Wanted have become the latest stars to carry the Olympic flame on its journey across the U.K.

The "Glad You Came" hitmakers were cheered on by fans as they jogged with the iconic torch through the small English town of Newton on Saturday.

The pop stars took to Twitter.com to share their excitement after participating in the 70-day relay ahead of the Olympic Games' Opening Ceremony later this month.

Band member Nathan Sykes writes, "Just ran with the Olympic torch! Such an unbelievable experience! Never been so grateful for an opportunity in my life!"

Max George also tweeted, "Wow! That was amazing! Carrying the Olympic torch is so good!"

Rockers Muse, actor James McAvoy, Black Eyed Peas rapper will.i.am and singers Melanie Chisholm and John Legend have also served as official torchbearers for the 2012 Olympics.
