Whatcom Parks And Rec Asks For Spare Change

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- The Whatcom Parks and Recreation foundation is asking if you’ve got any spare change.

“Pocket Change for Parks” is a new program developed by the foundation and Whatcom Educational Credit Union that allows donors to cash in their change and support local parks.

Lauren Erickson with the foundation says money would go to a new playground at Birch Bay State Park and fund staff and operating costs affected by budget cuts.

You can drop off your donations at most WECU locations even if you don’t have an account.

Ask your teller to donate the proceeds to “Whatcom Parks and Recreation Foundation.”

For more information go to www.wprfoundation.org.
