WCC Educates Entrepreneurs

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- Ever wanted to know how to launch your own business?

A new program at Whatcom Community College can teach you how.

WCC Workforce Education Director Janice Walker says the six month course is a partnership between Whatcom Community College, Western Washington University’s Small Business Development Center, and the Northwest Innovation Resource Center.

Walker says the program, titled "Launch and Build Your Business," mixes online courses and monthly live workshops with local business owners and experts.

She says people with specific business plans will benefit most from the program.

Registration begins in August and classes begin in September.

Sign up information is at www.whatcom.ctc.edu.

Pre-course information sessions will be held at WWU’s SBDC downtown Bellingham office, 115 Unity Street, Suite 101, noon-1 p.m. July 25 and 4-5 p.m. August 22.
