Pass The Hat Nearing 1000 Contributors

WHATCOM COUNTY, Wash. -- A Whatcom County philanthropic organization is nearing 1000 monthly contributors.

Executive Director of Pass the Hat Galen Emanuele says people sign up to donate just $2 a month which really adds up when almost 1000 people are participating.

Emanuele says the money goes to local families in need after unexpected tragedies.

Emanuele was inspired to create Pass the Hat after his own family’s tragedy when his brother was killed in a car accident in 1998.
