Usher was planning Amy Winehouse duet before her death

R&B star Usher was planning a duet with Amy Winehouse in the weeks leading up to the British singer's death last summer.

The Yeah! hitmaker has revealed he had approached her producer Salaam Remi about working with Winehouse, but he wasn't able to find time to hit the studio with her.

Usher tells MTV News, "There was (sic) few a conversations that took place, but we never quite made it to it. I would have loved it. It could have been one of the most incredible records ever. A voice like that comes once in a lifetime."

The singer admits he met Winehouse once and really liked her: "We talked and exchanged information and I invited her to a show and she didn't come." (KL/WNWCM/MT)
