SEQUIM, Wash. (Metro) -- Suzanne Drum says she's been crying since learning her stepson, 34-year-old Patrick Drum of Sequim, allegedly targeted and shot two sex offenders to death last weekend.
The 57-year-old Arizona woman tells peninsuladailynews.com that Drum gave no explicit indication he was planning the murders in two phone calls to her last Friday and Saturday.
But thinking back, the woman who raised Drum from the age of three says she should have been suspicious when Patrick emphasized twice in two days how much he loved her.
He also told her he would send her copyrights to the poetry he writes.
Patrick Drum, a convicted felon, was arrested Sunday, in connection with the murders of 28-year-old Gary Blanton, Jr. and 56-year-old Jerry Ray of Port Angeles.
Drum will be formally charged today with two counts of aggravated first-degree murder and one count each of first-degree burglary and unlawful first-degree possession of a firearm in Clallam County Superior Court.
