Bag Ban Coming To Port Townsend

PORT TOWNSEND, Wash.  (Metro)  -- Port Townsend is jumping on the state bandwagon to ban  single-use plastic bags.

www.peninsuladailynew.com reports the city council unanimously adopted the North Olympic Peninsula's first bag ban ordinance on a first reading Monday night.

Before final approval this summer, the Special Projects Committee will tweak the draft law, to determine the rules merchants will have to follow, when the new law takes effect and penalties.
