SKAGIT COUNTY, Wash. -- A semi-truck crash blocked Highway 9 in northern Skagit County for about 12 hours on Saturday.
Sixty-one-year-old Darshan Singh Toor of Abbotsford, B.C., was hauling a load of toilet paper in a Peterbilt box trailer southbound on Highway Nine.
The State Patrol reports at around 1:42 a.m. Saturday, his semi failed to negotiate a curve and crossed into the northbound lane, rolling into a ditch on the east side of the highway near Wickersham road.
Toor was injured and taken to United General Hospital in Sedro Woolley.
He was wearing a seat belt.
Troopers say the cause of the crash is under investigation and charges are pending, although drugs or alcohol were not involved.
The crash blocked all lanes of the highway as the state patrol, the Department of Transportation incident response team, and tow trucks worked to clear the scene.
