More Than 1/3 Of Puget Sound Homeowners Now Underwater

SEATTLE, Wash.  (Metro)  -- A new report says nearly 40 percent of Puget Sound-area homeowners are now underwater on their mortgages.

Channel Five KING quotes figures from the Seattle-based real estate website Zillow.

Its report says about nine percent actually owe double what their homes are worth.

The report says nearly half of Pierce and Snohomish county homeowners are upside-down.
