Samish Way On-Ramp Opening Delayed

BELLINGHAM, Wash. -- The Samish Way on-ramp to Northbound I-5 will remain closed a bit longer.

The State Department of Transportation says building the retaining wall – which provides support and length to the ramp – is taking longer than expected.

Parts of the retaining wall did not pass a strength test and have to be repaired.

The DOT says they now expect the ramp to open by the end of June – an additional 950-feet longer.
