Marysville Police Officer Charged In Daughter's Death

EVERETT, Wash. (Metro)  -- Snohomish County prosecutors are charging a Marysville police officer with second-degree manslaughter in connection with the accidental shooting death of his young daughter.

Seven-year-old Jenna Carlisle was killed in March inside a van parked near a Stanwood art studio.

Investigators believe the girl was shot by Carlisle's three-year-old son after the boy got hold of the off-duty officer's .38 caliber revolver.

Derek Carlisle is on paid administrative leave from the Marysville police force.

He'll be arraigned on June 5th.
