NOOKSACK, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A hit-and-run accident on the Mount Baker highway east of Kendall sent two motorcycle riders to the hospital.

Washington State Patrol (WSP) says a man and a woman from Surrey, BC were on a motorcycle heading westbound at around 4 p.m. on Saturday when an eastbound vehicle crossed the center line and struck them.

The eastbound vehicle then fled the scene.

The two motorcycle riders, both in their early 50s, were transported to PeaceHealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham for treatment.

WSP detectives are looking for a 2015-2021 white Nissan Murano that they believe to be the fleeing vehicle. The Murano will have passenger side damage near the front wheel and possibly damage to the passenger side mirror.

Anyone with information on the suspect vehicle or who witnessed the collision is being asked to contact Detective Dan Comnick at 360-654-1144 or email him at daniel.comnick@wsp.wa.gov.
