POINT ROBERTS, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Point Roberts man is in custody after investigators found child pornography on his computer.

In September, a Seattle Police task force alerted Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) detectives regarding a case of potential child pornography in their jurisdiction.

Whatcom County Sheriff’s spokesperson Deb Slater says the IP address associated with the case was tracked a Point Roberts residence. On Wednesday, Oct. 30, officers from the Bellingham Police Department and Homeland Security assisted WCSO in serving a search warrant.

They found thousands of images of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct on the suspect’s computer.

The suspect, identified as 54-year-old Morgan Bernd, was taken into custody on suspicion of Possession of Pornography Depicting Minors and for dealing in child pornography.

Bernd is currently being held at the Whatcom County Jail without bail.
