Heat advisory issued for western Whatcom and Skagit counties

WHATCOM COUNTY, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – As summer comes to an end, warmer temperatures and sunny weather is forecasted for Whatcom County.

The National Weather Service in Seattle has issued a heat advisory for western Whatcom and Skagit counties until 11:00 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 5.

Temperatures will be in the 80’s and could even reach the lower 90’s, posing a moderate risk of heat-related illness. Residents are being advised to drink plenty of fluids, stay out of the sun if they are sensitive to heat and never leave young children or pets unattended in a vehicle under any circumstances.

Temperatures will dip back down into the low 80’s as the weekend begins. By next week, temperatures will average in the high 60’s.
