BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A lockdown that occurred at Meridian High School on Thursday morning was short-lived.

The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office says that someone called 911 about a potential threat on Nov. 14 at around 8 a.m. The high school and district office went into lockdown, while the middle school and Irene Reither Elementary were placed on secure mode.

Deputies did a full search of the high school and did not find a credible threat to students or staff. Safety protocol for all the affected buildings were lifted at 8:24 a.m.

The lockdown comes a few weeks after a Canadian teen was arrested in connection to an unfounded bomb threat that led to the evacuation of Ferndale High School.
