Blaine man arrested following seven-hour standoff at his residence

BLAINE, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A man accused of domestic violence is in custody following a seven-hour standoff in Blaine.

35-year-old Tristen Alexander had previously been arrested on May 30th, 2024, after allegedly sending a threatening photo to an individual known to him.

A no-contact order was issued between Alexander and the victim following his release from jail on July 22nd, which the victim claims he violated multiple times including breaking into their residence and physically assaulting them on July 29th.

The Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office was forced to deploy SWAT and crisis negotiators to Alexander’s residence on Mitchell Avenue in Blaine after he refused to comply with police early on Friday, Aug. 9.

Police utilized less lethal and chemical munitions after the prolonged standoff to take the suspect into custody.

Alexander was booked into the Whatcom County Jail and faces multiple domestic violence charges including Burglary 1st degree, Felony Order violation and Felony Harassment.
