Valentine’s Day in August?

VALENTINE'S DAY RE-DO: A lawmaker in Jersey wants to proclaim August as a Valentine's Day "make up."

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) — One New Jersey lawmaker wants a Valentine’s Day do-over.

Assemblyman John McKeon notes his state was taking a beating from snow and bitter cold on Valentine’s Day in February. So, McKeon has introduced a resolution that would name August 14 as “Half St. Valentine’s Day.”

The resolution asks Governor Chris Christie to issue a proclamation calling on New Jerseyans to celebrate as they would have on Valentine’s Day.

McKeon tells The Star-Ledger of Newark the Half St. Valentine’s Day would also help local businesses.
