Love Actually
| 137 min | R
Starring: Hugh Grant, Liam Neeson, Colin Firth, Billy Nighy, Emma Thompson, Martin Freeman, Andrew Lincoln, Keira Knightly, Laura Linney, Alan Rickman

This movie has more British stars than The Harry Potter series! Don’t let that mislead you into watching this film with the whole family, it’s pretty raunchy. At times more naughty than nice, Love Actually is still a heartwarming story about the triumphs and challenges of love and life’s adventures along the way. Settle in and prepared yourself for an amazing soundtrack.

Streaming: Netflix, Xfinity On Demand

7. Gremlins (1984)

Gremlins | 106 min | PG/PG-13*
Starring: Zach Galligan, Phoebe Cates, Hoyt Axton, Corey Feldman

“Gremlins” is a classic tale of responsibility and a Christmas gift gone very wrong. When Billy’s dad buys an adorable Mogwai creature from a mysterious store in Chinatown he pays little attention to the shopkeeper’s warning: Keep it out of bright light, don’t get it wet, and NEVER feed it after midnight. Guess how long it takes before things go wrong!

*Warning: This movie was originally rated PG, but that’s an early 80’s rating, so it’s still kind of terrifying.

8. A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965)

A Charlie Brown Chrismtas | 25 min | TV G
Starring: Peter Robbins, Christopher Shea, Tracy Stratford, Kathy Steinberg, Bill Melendez

Rediscover the true meaning of Christmas with that help of Charlie Brown and a sad little fir tree. After the gang focuses too much on the commercial side of the holiday a few heartwarming speeches from Charlie brown (and a classic monologue from Linus) set them right. This made-for-TV special is the perfect holiday movie for little kids (and it’s only 25 minutes!)

9. Meet Me in St. Louis (1944)

Home Alone | 103 min | PG
Starring: Macaulay Culkin, Joe Pesci, Daniel Stern, John Heard, Caterine O’Hara

8-year-old Kevin McCallister is left behind when his family goes to Paris for the holidays, but he’s not really alone. Two bungling burglars have their eye on his home and it’s his job to defend it. Kevin learns some lessons about grown-up responsibilities and not taking things for granted before setting off some cringe-worthy booby-traps you’ll never forget.
