The world’s new “Most Beautiful woman” Lupita Nyong’o and Scarlett Johansson are on the verge of signing deals to become part of actor/director Jon Favreau’s new “Jungle Book” movie.

Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that Oscar winner Nyong’o, who was named People magazine’s Most Beautiful star on Wednesday, is close to taking on the role of Rakcha, a mother wolf who adopts lead character Mowgli, in the live-action/computer-generated film.

Johansson is in talks to voice the character of python Kaa, who hypnotizes her prey.

Meanwhile, Idris Elba will voice the villainous tiger Shere Khan in the latest adaptation of Rudyard Kipling’s adventure tale.

Favreau’s all-star “Jungle Book” is not the only version of the story set for the big screen – “Lord of the Rings” star and film technology visionary Andy Serkis is also developing a “Jungle Book” film for Warner Bros.

Cleveland greets reopening of historic ballpark

This Thursday, Aug. 21, 2014 photo shows an entrance to League Park in Cleveland. The city of Cleveland has invested $6.3 million in restoring the old site of League Park, a historic site where the Cleveland Indians clinched its 1920 World Series title, Babe Ruth hit his 500th home run and where Joe DiMaggio extended his hitting streak to 56 games. Not much of the old ballbark, where Cy Young threw the first pitch in 1891 remains, but the new park will host high school and youth games on its all-turf field and will pay homage to the greats who once played there.

The city has spent $6.3 million to turn an empty, trash-strewn field into a handsome ballpark with a playing surface of all-weather field turf.
