WWU’s Jasmine McMullin named Google Cloud Academic All-American

BELLINGHAM, Wash. – Western Washington University senior Jasmine McMullin has been named a First Team Google Cloud Academic All-America® selection to the NCAA Division II Track & Field/Cross Country Team.

McMullin (Sequim, WA/Sequim HS) was selected as one of 15 members on the Division II Women’s Track & Field/Cross Country Academic All-America First Team. She previously obtained her bachelor’s degree in English with a 3.94 cumulative grade point average and is pursuing a post-bac in an elementary teaching certification program with a current 4.00 GPA.

McMullin is the sixth WWU track & field student-athlete to be named an Academic All-American in program history and third to earn First Team honors. Javelin thrower Bethany Drake was also a first-team selection in 2017, and this marks the third consecutive season the WWU track & field program has featured a CoSIDA Academic All-American as Taylor Guenther earned third-team Academic All-America honors in 2016. WWU has had 22 all-time Academic All-America selections (dating back to 1984 when the program started) with 20 different student-athletes earning those awards.
