WWU: Volleyball and women’s soccer win, men’s soccer ties

It was a busy night of Western Washington University athletics Thursday night.  The Viking volleyball team, ranked #7 in the country, swept Concordia in Portland.  Western has won 14 matches in a row to improve to 14-3 on the year and 9-0 in Great Northwest Athletic Conference play.  They visit Western Oregon Saturday night.

The women’s soccer team beat Seattle Pacific 4-0 in Bellingham.  The Vikings have four consecutive shutout victories.  Gabriela Pelogi got things going for Western with a goal 1:58 into the game.  WWU improves to 9-2 on the season and 4-1 in the GNAC. The Vikings next visit Central Washington Saturday night.

The men’s soccer team ended in a 1-1 tie at Montana State Billings.  Georg Cholewa had the goal for Western.  The Vikings are now 5-4-1 on the year and 1-2-1 in conference play.  They next play at Northwest Nazarene Saturday at 3:00.
