WWU men’s soccer knocks off #1 Simon Fraser

The Western Viking men’s soccer team upset the #1 team in the rankings Thursday night beating Simon Fraser 2-1.  Simon Fraser had previously been undefeated.  Western got goals from Stephen Jinneman and Christian Fotter.

The Western women’s volleyball team won its 22nd match in a row Thursday night sweeping Western Oregon.  The Vikings are ranked #2 in the country.  With the win they clinch the Great Northwest Athletic Conference title.  They host Concordia Saturday night.

And the Western women’s soccer team won their opener at the GNAC Tournament in Portland Thursday beating Simon Fraser 2-1.  The Vikings play Concordia Saturday at 3:30 for the tournament title.
