Fresh off a trip to the college football playoff last year, expectations for the Washington Huskies football team are lofty for 2017. The Dawgs are ranked 7th in the Preseason Top 25 Coaches Poll released Thursday.

Washington finished 4th in the poll last year after going 12-and-2 and losing in the CFP semifinals to Alabama. The Crimson Tide once again start the season ranked number 1.

Ohio State is second followed by Florida State USC and the defending national champion Clemson Tigers at 5. Penn State, Washington, Oklahoma, Michigan and Wisconsin round out the top-10.

Two other PAC-12 schools are in the top-25. Stanford comes in at No. 14, while Utah is ranked 25th.

Washington State was just on the outside looking in. the Cougars received the most votes of any team not in the top-25 with 99.
