DUVALL, Wash. – A conservation group said it’s suing the salmon farming operation that released thousands of Atlantic salmon into the Puget Sound.
The pen containing about 305-thousand of the non-native fish collapsed over a week ago.
The Wild Fish Conservancy said the lawsuit against Cooke Aquaculture is for violations of the Clean Water Act.
The release poses a threat to struggling wild fish populations and the ecosystem, the conservancy group said.
