SARASOTA, Fla. – The schedule has been set and now all that is left is the racing that will determine the 2018 NCAA Division II national champion.

Coming off a pair of preliminary heat victories on Friday, the Western Washington University women’s rowing team will compete for the NCAA Division II national title on Saturday morning at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida. Western’s fours and eights both won their preliminary heat to advance directly to the Grand Final, and with unfavorable weather conditions altering the regatta schedule, the final day of the NCAA Division II Rowing Championships has been moved up one day.

The race schedule for the Vikings on Saturday is as follows:

Fours Grand Final – 8:18 am ET/5:18 am PT

Eights Grand Final – 8:26 am ET/5:26 am PT

In the Grand Final of the Fours, WWU will match up against Florida Tech and Central Oklahoma.

In the Eights, Western will race against Central Oklahoma, UC San Diego and Florida Tech.

WWU is racing in the NCAA Rowing Championships for the 17th time in the last 18 seasons and is an 8-time champion in the event. The Vikings won seven consecutive championships from 2005-2011 and returned to the top of the podium last season. WWU edged UCO 17-16 last year to win the 2017 NCAA Division II Championship.
