BELLINGHAM, Wash. — Due to the raised level of concern over the poor air quality in the area, the Western Washington University women’s soccer exhibition game against Trinity Western University in Langley, BC has been cancelled.

The Vikings were set to face their boarder rivals in a preseason friendly Tuesday night, but the game was called off due to air quality that has hit unsafe numbers in the Whatcom County and Western British Columbia areas.

WWU is scheduled to close out its preseason this Friday (Aug. 24) hosting the University of Victoria at Harrington Field at 6 pm. Updates on the status of that game will be shared on this website as Friday approaches.

The No. 7-ranked Vikings will officially open the 2018 season on the road with a pair of matches in San Diego, traveling to play Point Loma (Aug. 30) and 5th-ranked UC San Diego (Sept. 1). The official home opener at Harrington Field will be Sept. 6 vs. Holy Names (7 pm).

Fans can follow WWU women’s soccer online at WWUVikings.com/WSoc, and via social media on Twitter (@WWU_WSoccer), Instagram (@wwu_wsoccer) and Facebook (@WWUsoccerwomens).
