BELLINGHAM, Wash. – The Western Washington University women’s basketball program had three student-athletes named to the 2018 Great Northwest Athletic Conference All-Academic Team as senior forward Hannah Stipanovich, junior guard Amanda Lance and sophomore guard Lexie Bland were each recognized, announced Tuesday by the conference office.

Lance (Buckley, WA) earned the honor for the second consecutive season with a 3.81 GPA as a Business Administration major. She was one of 26 repeat selections to the GNAC All-Academic Team.

Stipanovich (St. Louis, MO/Metro State) and Bland (Ellensburg, WA) were each recognized for the first time. Stipanovich carries a 3.29 GPA as an Economics major while Bland holds a 3.49 GPA as a Kinesiology major.

The Vikings have had at least three selections to the GNAC All-Academic Team each season over the last four years.

To be eligible for the GNAC All-Academic Teams, student-athletes must be of sophomore standing or higher, be in their second season of competition at their current institution and be at or above a 3.20 GPA.

The Vikings (11-13, 7-9 GNAC) host Central Washington (Thursday, 5:15 p.m.) and Northwest Nazarene (Saturday, 7 pm) on WECU Court at Carver Gym this week as WWU battles for a GNAC Championships berth with four conference games remaining on the regular-season schedule. Both games will stream via WWUVikings.com/Live.
