SAN FRANCISCO, Calif. – A trio of Washington Huskies earned All-Pac-12 honors on Monday as junior Noah Dickerson was named to the All-Pac-12 First Team, junior Matisse Thybulle was named to the Pac-12 All-Defensive Team and freshman Jaylen Nowell earned All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention honors along with being named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team.

Jaylen Nowell – Pac-12 All-Freshman Team, All-Pac-12 Honorable Mention

Dickerson earned his first ever Pac-12 honors with his first team recognition after averaging 15.4 points per game, up from 12.5 points as a sophomore. He has recorded nine of his 15 career double-doubles this season with six of those nine coming in Pac-12 play. He has also recorded three of his career five 20-point/10-rebound double-doubles this season. It is the most since Matthew Bryan-Amaning had eight during his career (2007-11). Dickerson has had a stellar year and most recently became the 39th 1,000-point scorer in UW history. He now has 1,115 career points which ranks 32nd at UW. Following UW’s sweep of No. 25 Arizona State and No. 9 Arizona, Dickerson was named the Oscar Robertson Player of the Week, the NCAA Player of the Week and the Pac-12 Player of the Week. He is the first forward at UW to earn First Team All-Pac-12 honors since Bryan-Amaning in 2010-11.

Thybulle has been a force on the defensive end this season under head coach Mike Hopkins’ 2-3 zone as he has set the UW career record in steals with 196 and also moved into the UW career top 10 in blocks with 98. He is the only UW player in program history to be in the top 10 in both categories. He is also sixth in Pac-12 history in single-season steals with his 92 this year, which is 18 off the Pac-12 single season record and is the UW single-season mark as well. In the last 25 years, Thybulle is one of three Pac-12 players to post over 190 steals and 90 blocks in their career while he is also just the fourth player in UW history to earn All-Defensive Team honors, joining Aziz N’Diaye (2011), Justin Holiday (2010) and Venoy Overton (2010). He’s started in every single game of his career which now spans to 96 and has a streak of 43-straight games with at least one steal posted.

Freshman Nowell leads the team in scoring at 16.0 points per game and has led the team in scoring 13 times this season. He’s recorded nine 20+ scoring efforts including his season debut where he knocked in 32 points, setting the UW freshman record for their debut. Nowell had 16-straight games of at least 10 points and overall has 28 games with 10 or more points in 31 outings. The Seattle native is currently fifth on the UW freshman list in overall points as he’s got 497, 82 off the UW career record for a freshman. Following the regular season, Nowell is the second-leading scorer in the Pac-12 and is the 21st UW player to be named to the Pac-12 All-Freshman Team.

The 7th-seeded Huskies open the 2018 Pac-12 Tournament against 10-seed Oregon State on Wednesday, March 7 at 6 p.m. PT. The game will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks.
