The North Cascades Highway is now open.

Department of Transportation crews finished weeks of snow clearing and repair work and re-opened the highway Friday at about 10 a.m.

State Route 20 is closed during the winter months due to heavy snow and avalanche danger.

DOT says drivers should still expect winter-like conditions in some spots and to avoid stopping in snow slide areas.
