LC boys and girls; Lynden boys will play for championship titles Saturday after wins

The Lynden girls defeated North Kitsap 38-34 in a close battle that came down to the final minute at the SunDome early Friday morning. The Lions will advance to play Saturday morning at 8am for the 2A fourth place trophy against a to be determined team. Coverage starts at 7:45am on KPUG 1170AM, 97.9FM and KPUG1170.com.

The Mount Baker boys are heading home after they lost in a heart-breaker to the King’s Knights in overtime. The final score was 59-57.

The Nooksack girls fell to the Zillah Leopards 58-43 in a loser out game and the Pioneers journey in the State Tournament will come to an end.

The Lynden Christian boys beat Northwest 73-69 in a double overtime thriller. They are headed to the 1A State Championship game and will take on the winner of Freeman and Zillah Saturday night at 7pm with coverage starting at 6:45pm on The Sports Leader.

Coming up, the Lynden Christian girls take on Medical Lake tonight at 7pm on KPUG 1170AM, 97.9FM and KPUG1170.com.

The Lynden boys handled the Mark Morris Monarchs 67-43 to advance to the 2A Championship game. The Lions will play for the state trophy at 3pm with coverage starting at 2:45pm on KPUG.

The Lynden Christian girls dominated Medical Lake 64-40 to win their way to compete for the trophy and title of champions. The undefeated Lyncs end the night Saturday taking on the winner of the Cashmere and La Sale Semifinal at 9pm in a Championship match-up. Coverage for the finale starts following the Lynden Christian boys game at 7pm.
